Karen Pugh Clark

Qualifications: MSc (by research); BSc (Hons); RN

My current position is that of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) Nurse Specialist, with a specific role in the management of anaemia in this patient population. In addition to my clinical role, I am also a part-time PhD student at Keele University, England, UK, researching how best to assess symptoms in patients with CKD stages 4-5. As multimorbidity is almost the norm in patients with CKD stages 4-5, and contributes to their symptom burden, I think that my professional experience is highly pertinent to the topic area of my presentation.
I have been a Member of the EDTNA/ERCA since 2001, and have delivered a number of presentations and workshops at conference. Furthermore, I have published a series of papers in the Journal of Renal Care (the EDTNA/ERCA professional journal), and have contributed several chapters to Association handbooks.
