Robert Guiberteau

Robert Guiberteau got his Medical Degree in 1979 and his certification in Nephrology in 1981 from the Medical School of Tours France. He also received a Health Economics Degree at Fernand Vidal Hospital Paris in 1981 and completed an Executive MBA at CEDEP / INSEAD Fontainebleau France in 1996. He started his professional carrier as a Consultant Nephrologist at the Public Hospital in Bourges with special interests in Endocrinology, Nutrition and Peritoneal Dialysis. In 1986 he became the Head of the Department of Nephrology at the Public Hospital in Le Havre.

In 1990 he joined Baxter and created the Medical Affairs Department of the European Renal Division in 1992. He contributed to the development and registration of different Peritoneal Dialysis solutions and initiated the first clinical trials with a bicarbonate based PD solution.

In 1998 he joined Genzyme and started the European Renal Division.  In 2002 he became Vice President Global Professional Relations and Strategic Development for the Genzyme Cardio Metabolic and Renal Division, responsible for Global Medical Programs including the Genzyme Renal Innovations Program. He is presently Head Global ex USA Medical Affairs for the Sanofi Renal Division.
